Writing and performing original songs about life, love, passion, politics, fear, joy and anything else that finds its way into his cluttered worn out brain. Trying to make sense of the short time we each have on this planet. Sung with humour and a positive outlook and the idea that none of this stuff matters that much at all really.

021 - Captain Of The Lost Waves - Muhammad Ali In His Hey Day - 01:47:37- Sat - 7.20 – 8.10- “The Captain has been described as an ethereal troubadour, a profound storyteller, music philosopher, poet, bard and eccentric free thinking renegade. His musical offerings are inspired by the great songwriters and philosophers of yesteryear. All is in reverence of the song here, the art is always greater than the artist. Whilst the live performance and repertoire is designed to instigate and infiltrate the unknown depths of the listener, raising more questions than answers both artistically and philosophically. Fronting his compositions with a haunting, range shifting vocal capable of high tremulous falsettos and deep baritone timbres, all expressed primarily on the bouzouki though flanked by much use on the mandolin, guitar and ukulele. With some of his shows he is joined by the wonderful Wendy Ross (Magna Carta) on violin. She began playing violin at age 4, being classically trained, a rapid, high achiever she soon became a protege of one of the North East’s top teachers/violinists, and went on to win festival and music awards. Many years of experience and further training followed, then playing professionally in orchestras, chamber orchestras, theatres, quartets and solo work both at home and abroad. This is visceral music for the mind and body, full of dreamy verses, life affirming choruses and sheer audacity. Where melodic artistic invention meets in a melting pot of alternative folk, progressive, classical world, baroque chamber orchestral pop and ambient soundscapes. “

Understanding, respect and community. One love!https://thegoodfootcollective.co.uk/
024 - Her Orange Coat - Ballad 3 (Jamaica '59) - 02:03:58- Sun - 2.00 – 2.40- Hailing from West Yorkshire, HerOrangeCoat is a definitive example of the sum being greater than the parts. Her indie-folk songs – original, soulful and heartfelt – is a beguiling mixture of her life experiences to date, woven into a rich tapestry of sound. Her lyrics are often hard-hitting, topical and eloquent, showing off her rich vocals, reminiscent of artists such as Joni Mitchell. Armed with her ukulele, she crafts songs that show a remarkable ability to turn melancholy into an enticing musical journey that demands to be heard.
025 - Jimmy Andrex - Directions To The Sunlit Uplands - 02:12:45- Sun - 3.00 – 3.40- “Poetry you can dance to? Laurie Anderson meets Sylvia Plath? Phillip Larkin joins Kraftwerk? Sleaford Mods in Anglo-Saxon verse form?I’m Jimmy Andrex & the Bible of Dreams and I’d like to persuade you to feature the work on Bandcamp Daily.Tom Robinson on BBC6 Music said it’s “superb” and “life-affirming.” Poet Ian McMillan said Alec Clegg Still Dreams made him cry. Kingsley Chapman from Benefits heard Directions to the Sunlit Uplands and said we’re “kindred spirits.” Radio Albatross made Breakfast on the Beach their album of the year. But what do audiences usually say?“I thought it was going to be shit, but it wasn’t.”“How do you remember all them words?”“You’re Northern, you sound just like John Cooper Clarke: Are you from Manchesterford?”What is it like really? Photos make me look like an embittered bingo caller, so the only way you’re going to know is if you come and see me live. In the battle against obviousness, a live show might feature Orville the Duck in a dinghy, the Poetry Dad Dance Troupe, a ventriloquist dummy as a metaphor or impromptu stage invasions from either Johnny Halliday or the Editor of the Daily Mail, despite the obvious practical difficulties. In these dark times, where we walk through the valley of the shadow of AI, I think I’m worth a try.”
026 - Swing Easy - Minnie The Moocher - 02:15:33- Sun - 4.00 – 4.45- Swing Easy plays songs from the golden era of swing (1920s-1960s). Think Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra. Think Fly Me to the Moon, or Cheek to Cheek.
